What this policy covers
Six short sections, written so you can jump to the part you need. Nothing here changes how the guidance pages on workstation setup, movement and posture work — it only explains the small files this site stores in your browser.
First principles
What cookies are
Cookies are small text files placed on your device by a website. They allow the site to remember information between pages or visits, such as your preferences or whether you have seen a notice.
A cookie is not a program and it cannot run on your device or read other files. It is a short label that a site hands to your browser, and your browser hands back the next time you load a page from the same site. That is the whole mechanism. Because of it, a form can remember that you already submitted it, and a page can tell whether you have already dismissed a notice.
Some cookies are deleted when you close your browser; others remain for a set period. Your browser stores them per site, so a cookie set by primeshift.info is not visible to an unrelated website you visit later.
Session
Deleted the moment you close the browser window. Used to keep a single visit coherent, for example while a form is being filled in.
Persistent
Kept on your device for a fixed period, or until you delete it yourself. Used so a preference such as a dismissed notice is not asked again on every visit.
Cookies we use
We keep the set small and tied to a purpose. Strictly necessary cookies operate the site, including form handling and security. Where analytics are enabled, cookies record aggregated information about page visits, which helps us understand which guidance is useful.
We do not use cookies to build advertising profiles. Nothing on this site follows you to other websites in order to assemble an interest profile, and no cookie here stores the contents of a form you submitted.
Necessary
Keeps a form working while you fill it in, and blocks requests that do not come from a real browser session.
Always on
Analytics
Records aggregated page visits so we can see which setup and movement guidance readers open most.
Where enabled
Preference
Remembers a choice you made on the site, so a notice is not repeated on every single page view.
Fixed period
Not used
Advertising, retargeting and cross-site tracking cookies are outside the scope of this site and are not set here.
Excluded
Third-party cookies
Some functionality may rely on third-party services, such as embedded content or analytics providers. These providers may set their own cookies, and their handling of data is governed by their own policies.
In practice this means a provider can recognise a browser that has already loaded the same service on another site. We cannot read or change those cookies from here, and we cannot remove them on your behalf — only your browser settings or the provider's own controls can do that.
We limit third-party use to what the site needs to function and measure. If a provider's terms change in a way that would broaden what it collects here, this policy is updated before that change goes live, not after.
Provider policies are published by each provider. Read them alongside this page if you want the full picture of what a specific service collects.
The equipment the guidance pages describe — nothing on this page is photographed, stored or shared through a cookie.
Managing cookies
You can control or delete cookies through your browser settings. Blocking all cookies may affect how parts of the site work, particularly forms.
Instructions for managing cookies are available in the help section of your browser. Most browsers also let you review and delete individual cookies rather than switching them off wholesale, which is usually the better first step.
Keep them on
Forms submit, sessions stay coherent, and a notice you dismissed stays dismissed. This is the default state and nothing extra is required from you.
Block everything
Reading pages still works. Form submission may fail or repeat, and you may be asked to confirm the same notice on each visit.
Delete a specific cookie
Open your browser's cookie or site-data list for primeshift.info and remove the entry. It is recreated on your next visit if the feature that set it is still in use.
Private or incognito
Cookies set in a private window are discarded when you close it. Useful for checking the site once without leaving anything stored on a shared computer.
Changes take effect on your next page load. If a setting does not seem to apply, close every open tab for this site first — some browsers keep a session alive until the last tab is gone.
Retention
Cookie lifetimes vary by type. Session cookies expire when you close your browser. Persistent cookies remain for the period set by the cookie or until you delete them.
Session lifetime
These hold a single visit together: a half-finished form, a step you are in the middle of, a temporary token that keeps a submission from being sent twice. Close the browser and they are gone, which is why nothing you type here persists after you leave.
Fixed periods
Where a cookie is persistent, its lifetime is set by the feature that placed it — commonly a matter of days or months rather than years, and always with a defined expiry. Aggregated visit data is read in summary form; individual page histories are not kept beyond the period the analytics setting defines.
